About netball

Netball is the most popular team sport in Australia and New Zealand and is played by men and women in more than 70 countries around the world. Netball calls for speed and agility, teamwork and strategy. Body contact is limited and all of the team’s seven players are involved in the game. A weekly game of netball is a great way to socialise and make new friends. Netball is similar to, but not the same as, Kurvebold. To learn more: Watch the Intosport video on youtube - Netball basics, or check out the international governing body’s website or Wikipedia. See also our explanations of the rules in English or in Danish.

About us

Since late 2008, Copenhagen Netball Club has provided a forum for socialising, fun and fitness for Danes and expats from all over the world. Our activities extend well beyond a regular Wednesday night competition, and our members have taken part in a range of events - from international tournaments and summer music festivals to boutique pub crawls and casual BBQs.

Board positions and duties

We hold Board meetings once a month, usually at a different cafe or restaurant in Copenhagen. Board members are simply asked to turn up when they can, and contribute new ideas or help with projects to grow or improve the Club.

  • President - Lead the Club, attend promotional events, call Board meetings and create meeting agendas.
  • Treasurer - Handle the Club's accounts, including monitoring membership payments and preparing basic financial statements once a year.
  • Secretary - Take minutes at meetings and maintain a register of Club players.
  • Committee Members - Create their own roles to pursue projects they are interested in. Focus areas might include social events, communicating with other European clubs and the international bodies, English or Danish PR, working with kids...

Formal positions are usually held for a term of one year.

  • Ongoing informal roles - Those with less time to devote can select specific events or activities to be involved with at anytime. Maybe it's as simple as organising a night out at the pub or a BBQ in the park. It's up to you! Let us know if you've got an idea and want to make it happen.
